Configure Direct for NetSuite
Before users can run Direct apps on a mobile device, you must assign a Direct license to each user and configure various settings in NetSuite.
Prerequisite:

Install the Direct app bundle. Refer to Install the bundle in NetSuite.

If your Direct solution includes label printing, install and configure Enterprise Printing Platform 9.8.1. Refer to the Enterprise Printing Platform Setup Guide.

To access configuration settings, you must be configured as a Employee user.
To configure Direct, complete the following steps.

Obtain your set of Direct for NetSuite licenses.

Create the desired Employee and Customer records in NetSuite.Step InformationNote:When configuring Customer records, ensure that the Customer checkbox is selected.

Grant user accounts access to Direct.

For administrator users, Assign a Direct license to a Employee user.

For end users, Grant a Customer user access to Direct.

Configure the Direct configuration elements. Refer to DSI Direct configuration elements.

To define default settings that apply to all apps and users, assign values to the global configuration elements. Refer to Assign values to company DSI Direct configuration elements.

To define default settings to display for a specific user in all Direct apps, assign values to the user-specific configuration elements. Refer to Assign values to user-specific DSI Direct configuration elements.

To define default settings to display in a specific app, assign values to the app-specific configuration elements. Refer to Assign values to app-specific DSI Direct configuration elements.

Configure users to access the desired DSI Direct apps.

For administrator users, Grant Employee users access to individual Direct apps.

For end users, Grant a Customer user access to individual apps.

If your Direct solution includes Order Pack, Configure packages for Order Pack.

If your Direct solution includes label printing, Configure label printing integration with Enterprise Printing Platform.

Configure NetSuite permissions for Direct user roles.

To populate warehouse data in NetSuite records used by Direct apps, configure App-specific NetSuite settings.

On each mobile device in the solution, complete the following configuration actions.

Create a shortcut to the Apps menu for Employee users. Refer to Configure a mobile device to launch DSI Direct for DSI Employee users.

Create a shortcut to the Apps menu for Customer users. Refer to Configure a mobile device to launch Direct for Customer users.

Disable specific virtual keyboard settings. Refer to Recommended settings on mobile devices.
