Source elements
- About source elements
Source elements are used to create a flowchart for an app, subapp, or include. The flowchart is designed using elements connected to other elements, which creates the flow.
- Edit source elements
Source elements can be edited in an application, subapp, or include on the respective flowchart editors.
- Source element types
You can use the following types of source elements in apps, subapps, and includes.
- User Interaction source elements
User interaction elements are used to prompt users, display data, retrieve data, and more.
- Workflow source elements
Workflow source elements control the sequence in which the source elements of an app are executed. Using Workflow actions, you can create loops to execute a specific set of source elements or to call subroutines or variable assignments.
- Data Operations source elements
Data file operations manipulate the records in temporary output files that reside on the device. Temporary files can be used to store data while it is being collected until a specified task is complete.
- Communications source elements
Communications source elements allow for requesting data from the server, invoking a function call from the server, sending a formatted record to a host, and transmitting records in the main output file to the server.
- System Function source elements
System function source elements allow you to call custom apps from an app, change file locations in the directory on the device, and launch a command or open a file on a device.
