Set up Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022 for Mobile Enterprise Platform

Before installing Mobile Enterprise Platform on any server, it is important to verify that the server meets best practices for the hardware, operating system settings, security configurations, and other prerequisite software.

Prerequisite: Windows Server 2012 R2, or Windows Server 2016.

To set up Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022 for Mobile Enterprise Platform, complete the following procedures.

Configure operating system settings.
Disable the file system UAC.
Install the required roles and features for Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, or 2022.
Install .NET Framework V4.7.
Configure the .NET version in the default application pool.
Disable content compression in IIS.
Install Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable.
Install Visual Studio 2012 Redistributable.
Install database client software.
Optional. To connect Mobile Enterprise Platform to an ERP, install any of the following applicable ERP client software components. For more information, refer to ERP client software connectors.
- Install the JDE Interop Client for the EnterpriseOneXML Connector.
- Install the SAP GUI Tool for SAP .NET Connector.
Optional. To use database tables, complete one of the following tasks. For more information, refer to Platform database considerations.
- Create a SQL server database.
- Create an Oracle schema.
Create, set up, and validate the following security accounts. For more information, refer to Required security accounts.
- Windows Service account
- ERP system account
- Platform database account
- ERP system database account
Configure virus scanning software.
