Disable the file system UAC
During the installation of Advanced Inventory platform, the installer will create folders in the Program Files, Program Files(x86), and Program Data folders. It will also create Private and Public Message Queues in MSMQ and create registry entries. As a best practice, we recommend that the system administrator disables the file system UAC.
To disable the file UAC, complete the following steps.
-
Log into the target Advanced Inventory application server as an administrator or user that belongs to the local administrators group.
-
Go to Start > Run.
-
Under Open, enter regedit.
-
Use CTRL+F to locate the HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\system branch of the registry.
-
To edit the EnableLUA key setting, double click the key.
-
Under Value data, enter 0.Expected ResultResult: The new value should match the following image.
-
Restart the system.
