Configuration menu
The Configuration menu contains the following options for configuring the Mobile Client program.
Access to some menu options may be restricted based on the security settings for your user profile. For more information, contact your system administrator.
App Configuration Settings
Allows you to change any Configuration Element properties that allow user override. For more information, refer to Edit app configuration settings.
Update permissions
If a system administrator modifies the permissions for a user in Advanced Inventory Platform Manager, you can use this option to update the permissions for each user. For more information, refer to Update app permissions.
Update time and date
Synchronizes the device's clock to the data collection server. For more information, refer to Update time and date.
Enable communications
Allows you to enable communications for the user. If you disable this option, your device is disconnected from the server. Apps that are available but are not on the device appear on the list, but can not be used until you re-enable communications. For more information, refer to Enable or disable communications.
Synchronize applications
Synchronizes the app list on your device with the apps on the server. This option updates the device with available apps and removes any apps that are no longer on the server. For more information, refer to Synchronize apps.
App menu settings
For more information, refer to Change user password
Allows you to change your password. This option is only available if the system administrator enables it in Advanced Inventory Platform Manager. For more information, refer to Change a user password in Mobile Client.
Screen settings
Allows you to change screen rows and columns, font size, and fonts. For more information, refer to Edit screen settings.
Set local file path
Sets the locally configured path to the directory for storing files on the device. For more information, refer to Set the local file path.
Set local repository path
Sets the path where Repository files from Application Studio are stored on the device. For more information, refer to Set the local repository path.
Choose environment
If there is more than one environment represented, this option allows you to select the environment you want to use. For more information, refer to Choose an environment.
Set device platform
Sets the platform for the device. You must be a Mobile Client Administrator to set the device platform. For more information, refer to Set the device platform.
Manage communications
Allows you to manage the following communication settings.

Your Device ID.
-
Host address the device uses when communicating with the server.

Ports the device uses when communicating with the server.

The length of time the device waits for a response from the server.
-
The length of time the device waits for a transaction request to complete.
-
Whether HTTPS is enabled.
-
Whether communications are active.
-
Whether Platform Metrics are enabled.

Beginning in 9.0 SP8, you can also clear all data files that are associated with the current server from your device.

Manage tracing options
Allows you to determine what appears in a trace file. This is helpful when debugging. For more information, refer to Use trace logging in Mobile Client for Windows Mobile.
Transmit queue
Sends stored records from the main output file to the server. This option is used primarily for batched transactions, or for resuming transmission after a temporary disruption in communication with the server. For more information, refer to Transmit data.
Clear queue
Clears the records from the main output file. This option can also be used to change the record counter from its current setting to zero. All records stored in the main output file will be deleted. This process cannot be reversed. For more information, refer to Clear the queue.
Local DB
Allows you to manage the data replication settings. By default, data replication is partial, and includes only the differences since the last replication. You can force a full database download by selecting that option. If a local database is replicated and the Mobile Enterprise Platform Device Database Tables component is not licensed, an error message displays.
