Connect to the ScanWorkX Server
This license program can be run on any Windows PC that can make a network connection to the ScanWorkX server.

Open the the ScanWorkX Client License Tool.Expected ResultThe application opens with the Step One: Generate Request tab open. The ScanWorkX Server and ScanWorkX Port fields indicate the connections to the ScanWorkX server. The ScanWorkX Server field can contain a name or an IP address. The Port is always 20001.

Verify the server address.Step Information

Select Load Applications.Expected ResultA dialog opens that, once completed, connects ScanWorkX Service to the Dynamics AX ERP. The Server and Port fields auto-complete.

Select the AX Version.Expected Result

Choose 2009/2012 for Axapta 3.

Choose 365 for Dynamics 365.

Select Connect.Expected ResultThis opens a TCP/IP connection to the ScanWorkX Server.Troubleshooting a failed connection:

Check that the Server value is correct.

Ensure the ScanWorkX service is running.

Test the network path from the licensing PC to the ScanWorkX Server.

Once the connection is established, the connection string will populate in the Instance field.Expected Result

For AX version 2009/2012, the value will be in the format axinstance@axservername:port. The axinstance or port values might be missing, but the axservername value is mandatory.

For AX Version is 365, the value will be Dynamics 365 Azure. Do not change this value.
Select Logon to complete the connection to the ScanWorkX Server.Troubleshooting a failed connection:-
Check that the AX Version selection is correct.

Ensure the Instance value was not modified.

Ensure the existing ScanWorkX License has not expired or been corrupted. If this is the case, see Temporarily Reset a ScanWorkX License for instructions.
