About device downloads and Device Loader

The Devices page allows for downloading Device Loader, Mobile Client for Windows PC, and Mobile Client for Windows Mobile.

Load a device

Mobile Client must be installed on a device before a user can run an app.

To load a device, complete one of the following actions depending on the device platform.

To download Mobile Client for Windows PC from Platform Manager directly onto a workstation, refer to Download Mobile Client for Windows PC.
To download installers for Mobile Client for Windows PC or Mobile Client for Windows Mobile, refer to View all Mobile Client loaders.
To download Device Loader and then configure Mobile Client for Windows Mobile, refer to Download and install Device Loader.
To download Mobile Client for Android or Mobile Client for iOS, visit the respective app stores.

View all Mobile Client loaders

Mobile Client Loaders can be viewed and downloaded, allowing for configuring devices used in the system.

Note: Mobile Client for Android or iOS should be downloaded from their respective app store.

To view all available Mobile Client loaders, complete the following steps in Platform Manager.

Go to Monitor > Devices.
Select the View All Mobile Client Loaders button, which appears at the top right of the Devices page.

Expected Result

Result: A list of downloads displays.
Optional. To install a mobile client, select one of the following options.
- Download Mobile Client Installer for Windows Desktop.
- Download DeviceLoader for Windows Mobile.
Complete one of the following steps.
- Select Run. (Select Run twice if a security warning appears.)
- Select Save File. Then double-click DSIDeviceLoaderSetup.exe in the Downloads dialog box. Verify that you want to install the program.
In the Device Loader installation, select Next on each screen to install Device Loader.
On the last installation window, mark the box to Run Device Loader and select Finish.
Follow the Device Loader Wizard to load a device.

Result:

For Mobile Client for Windows PC, the program will be installed to the PC running Device Loader.

For Windows Mobile, you must connect the mobile device to the PC running Device Loader and proceed with loading a device.

Download Mobile Client for Windows PC

From Platform Manager, you can download Mobile Client onto a workstation running Windows and enable users to run Mobile Enterprise Platform apps. A user can input data into an app using a keyboard or a scanner attached to the workstation.

To download Mobile Client for Windows PC, complete the following steps in Platform Manager.

Go to Monitor > Devices.
On the Devices page, at the top right, select Download Mobile Client PC.
To complete the download, do one of the following actions.
- Select Run. (Select Run twice if a security warning appears.)
- Select Save File. Then double-click DSIDeviceLoaderSetup.exe in the Downloads dialog box. Verify that you want to install the program.
Follow the setup wizard instructions.
Optional. To repair or remove Mobile Client, complete one of the following actions.
- Select Repair Mobile Client.
- Select Remove Mobile Client.
To begin the installation, select Next.

Remove or repair Mobile Client for Windows PC

You can remove Mobile Client from a Windows PC. Alternately, if Mobile Client becomes corrupted, the option to repair can be used.

To remove or repair Mobile Client for Windows PC, complete the following steps in Platform Manager.

Go to Monitor > Devices.
Select Download Mobile Client PC.
In the dialog box that appears, complete one of the following actions.
- Select Run.
- Select Save File. The file is saved in the Downloads folder. You can run it from there.
In the Setup Wizard, complete one of the following actions.
- Select Repair Mobile Client to repair it.
- Select Remove Mobile Client to remove it.
