Print form components
About printing an Application Studio item to a PDF
If you need to share Application Studio item designs with others in your organization, you can do so in the form of a PDF file.
You can print the following items in Application Studio: apps, forms, form components, wires, sub apps, includes, mobile client tables, service definitions, configuration elements, business rules, and data objects. You can print multiple items to one PDF file. Each item starts on a new page in the PDF. Large flowcharts are split up over multiple pages.
Flowcharts
When printing a flowchart, keep the following in mind.
-
Not all referenced items in the particular application you have chosen are included in the list available for printing. If subapps and forms are referenced, they must be printed from their own editors.
Forms
When printing a form or form component, keep the following in mind.
-
Disabled form controls show as light gray in the PDF.
-
If you print a list box or list view control, no items appear in the list box or list view. If you select Show details in the Print window, the list items appear in the details.
-
When you print a tab container control, a box for the tab container appears on one page, and the controls on each tab appear on the following pages.
Wires
When printing a wire, keep the following in mind.
-
You can choose to print just the wire, or its functions, or its subroutines, or all three at the same time.
-
Lines wrap in a wire as follows.
-
The original spacing of a line is retained.
-
The line inherits the indention logic of its container, plus one character indentation.
