Analyzer
- About Analyzer
Analyzer lets you build and customize cards that display your data on pages.
- Analyzer interface elements
In Analyzer, you can build a custom chart or table for a card used in your insights solution. You can also specify visual characteristics for the chart such as the chart type, filters, sorting, summary number, date, and advanced chart properties.
- View the card Analyzer
In the Analyzer, you can change the visual characteristics of a card chart. Users with a "Participant" role cannot access the Analyzer. For more information about user roles, see the Operational Insights and Platform Metrics Administrative Guide.
- Specify a chart type
Chart types allow you to specify how your insights information displays.
- Apply quick filters
Quick Filters are pre-defined filters you can use to create a self-guided experience for others to explore data on a card and answer questions for themselves. When you apply a Quick Filter to a column on a card, a new pane is added to the card containing quick filter checkboxes for those columns. Any user who opens the Details view for this card can then show or hide columns by checking or unchecking the boxes for those columns in the Quick Filter pane.
- Sort data items in a chart
You can sort items in a chart to meet your business needs.
- Apply custom colors on a chart visualization
When you create a chart for displaying data for your users, it is often helpful to use consistent colors and highlight exceptions using conditional color formatting. Color rules can be applied to a specific card or to all cards using the same dataset.
- Apply chart properties
Chart properties allow you to apply advanced settings to your chart. Available chart properties vary based on the selected chart type.
- Access the Summary Number dialog
The Summary Number dialog controls the aggregation type and the summary number label format for your chart.
- Apply X-Y axis and series chart values
You can drag and drop any data dimensions or measures in your dataset into the axis and series fields which will then power your chart.
- Specify the date range
The date range determines the date range that appears in your card.
- View the lineage for a dataset in Analyzer
In the Analyzer view for a card, you can see the lineage of the dataset that powers the card. Lineage refers to the datasets that have been combined and/or transformed.
- Apply filters to card chart data
When you apply filters to a card in Analyzer, those filters become an integral element of the card and are applied when others view the card.
- Access the Data Table
The Data Table in Analyzer allows you to see and manipulate the data powering you visualization. Changes you make to the data in the Data Table are reflected in your chart preview. Likewise, when you make changes to the chart using tools such as filters and sorting, the data in the table is updated.
- Apply a Beast Mode calculation to a dataset
You can use Beast Mode to create a custom calculation. Beast Mode calculations are useful when you need to create some charts based on a dataset which almost has what you need, but not quite.
