SubApps
- About subapps
A subapp is a reusable set of application logic that resides outside an app. Unlike subroutines, which reside within an app, subapps are completely self-contained; their variables are know only to them.
- Create a subapp
You can create subapps, which are reusable sets of app logic that are completely self-contained their variables are known only to them, to be used in an app.
- Edit a subapp
SubApps are reusable sets of app logic that are completely self-contained their variables are known only to them. The logic of a subapp is created by dragging and dropping (or double-clicking) source elements to place their associated symbols on the subapp's flowchart canvas. You can edit a subapp that has already been created.
- Search within a subapp
The subapp editor in Application Studio allows you to search within an open subapp for source elements, variable targets and properties, and variable assignment source formulas. This also searches any subroutines within the subapp.
- SubApp flowchart editor information
SubApp editor allows for working with subapps that may be included in apps.
- Check in a subapp
When a subapp is edited, it is automatically checked out to the user. On the screen, text indicates the first and last name of the user that has the subapp checked out. The component is locked and cannot be accessed by another user. It remains checked out until checked in.
- Delete an app or app item
You can delete unnecessary apps and app items. Deleting destroys all instances for all promotion levels. An app or app item cannot be deleted if it is checked out.
- Undo checkout of a subapp
Current edits to a subapp can be undone by undoing checkout. Even after changes have been saved, the checkout can still be undone to discard the most recent changes. When undoing checkout, the subapp remains at the same version as when editing was begun. Checkout cannot be undone to discard the most recent edits if the edits have been checked in. The Undo Checkout tool is unavailable if the subapp is checked in.
- Download a subapp
You can download (export) a subapp, which exports the file to a designated folder on the local system or network.
- Upload a subapp
You can upload (import) a subapp, which imports the file from a designated folder on the local system or network.
- About return codes
Return codes can be defined in elements in an app, in subapps, and in subroutines.
