About pristine objects
A pristine object can be any Application Studio item with the exception of Repository files and Style Groups. Pristine objects are delivered by Advanced Inventory.
A pristine object file is defined in Application Studio by using an underscore (_) as the first character in the ID. A pristine object can be created and edited on a server. The pristine object can also be uploaded individually, downloaded, and deleted. Pristine objects in a non-pristine instance can be managed using promotion packages. When uploaded, options to keep or replace, are available on the conflict dialog window if there is a file with the same name.
Pristine objects can be downloaded and then uploaded with a different ID that does not have an underscore (_) as the first character, in order to create a copy of the pristine object. On the conflict dialog window, replace will be forced. However, if the version being imported is equal to or lesser than the version that already exists, it will “ignore” the replace and not increment the version.
