Projects
- About projects
Projects allow for organizing, working with, importing, and exporting apps and app items that are all associated with the one particular project. All apps and items that are part of a project can be checked in, checked out, and published at one time.
- Create and edit a project
- Check in project items
You can check in apps and app items in the individual sections of Application Studio, or all project items can be checked in at the same time in the project. Only top-level items that are explicitly included in the project can be checked in using Check-in all. When a user checks out a project, it is locked and no other user can edit it. It remains checked out until it is checked in. Checking in a item automatically increments its version number.
- Publish a project
All the items in a project can be published at the same time. The publishing process must validate all app references, formula usage, and environment-sensitive data. After a project is successfully published, a device app file is produced.
- Download a project
Projects can be downloaded, which exports and saves a project and all its items (apps, forms, subapps, etc.) to a .zip file. The project .zip file can then be uploaded to another instance.
- Upload a project
A project contains all the items for an app. When you download a project from an instance of Platform Manager, the items are exported to a .zip file. Then you can upload the .zip file into another instance of Platform Manager.
