About LDAP Extraction Agent

LDAP Extraction Agent extracts specified user information from the LDAP directory to create and update user information in your Mobile Enterprise Platform system.

The LDAP Extraction Agent extracts the specified user information from the LDAP directory on a schedule set when you configure the agent. You can view communication activity of this agent in System Monitor. The extraction process can also be run from System Monitor. The only configuration needed for this agent is its schedule. To configure the LDAP Extraction Agent schedule, follow the steps in Schedule an agent.

Before user information can be extracted, start the LDAP Extraction Agent on each server configured to run the extraction process. To ensure that the agent is continuously started, schedule the agent to run continuously by selecting continuously. If the server is restarted, the LDAP Extraction Agent automatically restarts when the Windows session starts.

After the agent creates a user profile, the following information is controlled directly from the LDAP Server. This information is not stored in Mobile Enterprise Platform and is updated instantly.

When you run the LDAP Extraction Agent, the following user information is updated, when applicable.

New users that have been added to the LDAP server are added to Mobile Enterprise Platform.
LDAP controlled user information that has been updated on the LDAP server is updated on Mobile Enterprise Platform. This includes First Name, Last Name, Language ID, Email Address, Phone Number, and any mapped Generic Data.
Users that have been deleted from the LDAP server are deleted from Mobile Enterprise Platform.

Configure LDAP Extraction Agent

LDAP Extraction Agent extracts specified user information from the LDAP directory to create and update user information in your Mobile Enterprise Platform system. When LDAP Extraction Agent is configured, a schedule is set that determines how frequently on specified days this data should be extracted.

The only configuration needed for the LDAP Extraction Agent is its schedule.

Note:Before user information can be extracted, start the LDAP Extraction Agent on each server configured to run the extraction process.
