About Mobile Client for iOS
Mobile Client provides a container in which you can run apps that were developed in Application Studio. Mobile Client communicates with Communication Agent to obtain all of its required files, as well as transmit and receive transaction data. Mobile Client for iOS runs on iOS devices and uses TCP/IP communication.
After the initial startup, Mobile Client checks for updates to apps and app permissions each time you start a session. If a newer version of an app exists on the server, Mobile Client updates the app in your app list to match the new version. You can select 'Synchronize applications' to manually synchronize your app list. For more information, refer to Synchronize apps. Mobile Client compares the date of the app permissions file it is currently running to the published date of the file on the server. If the file on the server is more recent, Mobile Client automatically updates the app permissions. To manually update the app permissions file, refer to Update app permissions.
Multiple languages are supported in Mobile Client. A system administrator can modify localization settings from Advanced Inventory Platform Manager.
The Mobile Client screen contains header information, status lines, and a work area. The header contains the screen title and app title. Status lines contain non-app related information, such as time and record count. The work area contains prompts and input fields defined in the app, along with any additional information, such as messages and menus. To modify screen settings, refer to Edit screen settings.
