Add menu exits
The Menus form defines menus and menu exits form defines menu exits. You must define menu exits before adding them to a menu; however, menus can be used as menu exits.
To add menu exits, complete the following steps.

On the menu selection line, enter XIT and press Enter or select OK.Expected ResultResult: The Menu Exits form displays.

For Action, enter one of the following codes.

To add a new record, enter A.

To change an existing record, enter C.

To delete an existing record, enter D.

To find a new record, enter F.

To start an inquiry on a specific record, enter I.

When the cursor moves to the Key field, press F1 to view a list of existing records.

Navigate to the desired existing record and, in the Opt field, enter 1 and press Enter or select OK.Expected ResultResult: The record you selected displays.

For Action, enter one of the following codes.

To add a new record, enter A.

To change an existing record, enter C.

To delete an existing record, enter D.

To find a new record, enter F.

To start an inquiry on a specific record, enter I.

For Menu exit ID, enter the new exit ID.Step InformationNote:If you are changing or viewing an existing menu exit, you can skip this field.

For Exit type, enter one of the following values.

To give the user access to perform functions in other Mobile Enterprise Platform menus, enter M.

To give the user access to host operating systems, such as DSPMSG (display messages) and DSPOUTQ (display out queue), enter C.

To give the user access to other programs installed on the host computer, enter P.

For Menu/Cmd/Program name field, enter the menu, program name, or command you want to execute when the user selects this option.Step InformationNote:This field follows host naming conventions. The field is 21 characters long and allows for a host qualified object name (library name or object name).

Optional. For Parameter, enter any optional parameters.Step InformationNote:Parameters must be entered in host command processor format.

For Menu exit, enter a description for the menu exit.Step InformationNote:This is a required field that can contain any character string up to 78 characters.

For Priority, enter 5.

For Host exit status, enter one of the following values for the hold exit status.

Enter Y to hold the menu exit.

Enter N to enable the menu exit.
Step InformationNote:This disables the menu exit, but makes it available for use in the future. This menu exit will not appear on any menu. -

For Security requirement, enter one of the following values for the security level required for a user to execute the menu exit.

To grant the user access to all system functions and give them the security level of Security Officer, enter *SECOFR.
-
To grant the user access to all functions except critical security features and give them the security level of System Technical Staff, enter *SYSTEM.

To give all users access to perform basic system functions, enter *USER.

Press Enter or select OK.Expected ResultThe XIT function updates the DCMXF Menu Exits file. If the system detects any input errors, a notification displays. If the system detects no input errors, the menu exit definition is added to the DCMXF Menu Exits file.To verify the list of menu exits, select the Menu Exit ID field and press F1 to review the list of menu exits.
