About additional environments
Additional environments refer to multiple sets of libraries used for running the system. Before you create an additional environment, determine the purpose it will serve, for example, test, development, or training.
Test environments allow you to test new functionality outside of the production environment. Development environments support software program development only. Training environments supports training associates without disturbing other environments.
You can set up your system to run in a non-network or network environment. You can also have multiple data collection servers running a specific environment. For example, you can have more than one data collection server in a test environment and more than one data collection server in an additional environment running at the same time. In addition, you can switch one data collection server between multiple environments.
You must set up your client/server environment to match your host environment. For example, if you set up a test environment on the host computer, you must also set up a test environment on the data collection server.
