About Direct Shipping APIs
If a customer is using the native integrated configuration within NetSuite, or using a configured third party, the shipping accounts and shipping items are generally configured for integrated shipping.
Functional Process
NetSuite set up requires that the accounts match any shipping configuration and that items are set for integration. If a customer chooses to use the direct API connectors for FedEx and UPS offered by Advanced Inventory, configuration updates must be done to allow the connections to flow data, or the shipping fulfillment step will error
In addition, the process for testing in a Sandbox environment and then activating the production environment require different configuration settings.
Configure NetSuite shipping connectors in the Sandbox
To test Print and Save functionality, a customer's NetSuite sandbox should be configured using developer accounts from FedEx and UPS.
Prior to initiating testing, a customer must request developer accounts. To request developer accounts, a customer should use the following avenues.
UPS
Requested through the customer's account representative or directly with UPS.
To revise the sandbox configuration in the customer's environment, complete the following steps in the Sandbox.

To confirm that all shipping methods are decoupled from shipping integration, complete the following substeps.

Go to Lists > Accounting > Shipping Items

Review each shipping item by opening each item and reviewing the Shipping Labels sub-tab.Step Information

If the Shipping Label Integration field is checked, select the edit option and deselect the check mark to clear the option.

Click Save.

Repeat the substeps for each shipping item defined.

To register a carrier developer account, complete the following substeps.

Go to Setup > Accounting > Shipping > Carrier Registration.Step InformationThe Carrier Registration screen will display.

For the setup fields, enter the associated carrier developer account information.

Click Save.Expected ResultIf successful, the page will close.

Repeat the substeps for each carrier to register.Step InformationUSPS is embedded through FedEx or UPS, so USPS set up is not necessary.

Accounts are now configured to test.
Note:

If accounts do not work, launch each carrier registration page.

Delete the current configuration by selection Actions > Delete

Return to step 2 and follow configuration process.
