Co By Products Completion interface for JD Edwards
About the Co By Products Completion interface
This interface is used to record completions against Co/By products.
A Co/By product is an item that is created as the result of completing another item. This interface cannot be called directly. The work order completions interface (ND3N1114) calls this interface. In Edwards the application name is P31115. The dcLINK version is called ND3N1115. This interface was written in NER. Since this interface is not a standalone interface it does not have any processing options.

Processing
The characteristics of an item determine which fields are required by the interface. Some characteristics are set at the item master level, and some are set at the item/branch level. The item/branch level always takes precedence over the item master. Refer to the Special Processing Interface Usage Guide for more information.
Verify the processing
Use CARDEX to verify the processing.
To verify that the completion occurred, use CARDEX to complete the following steps in JDE.
-
Inquire on the various Co/By products.Step InformationEach one should have an entry showing the quantity that was completed.
-
Inquire in the Summary Availability application on the various Co/By products.Step InformationEach item should have its on-hand quantity increase by the quantity completed. In order for this check to be effective you must first have inquired on the items before the completion was made, so you have a baseline quantity to compare back to.
-
Inquire on the work order using P48013 on menu G3111.Step Information
-
Highlight the grid row that contains the work order and select the Co/By Products button.
-
A screen will be displayed that shows the Co/By products and the quantity completed for each one.

Additional information
In the enterprise system, the user must first enter values into the Quantity Completed and Scrapped field, and then select the Co/By Completion button.
When the Co/By Completion button in the tool bar is selected, the Completions program loads the cache that will be read by Co/By Products Completion Window (ND3N1115 in dcLINK) application. This cache contains all the Co/By product completions records. The amount completed is calculated based on quantity being reported as completed/scrapped on the work order completion screen.
The amount that will be completed is shown in the Quantity Completed column. If there are no changes, the user selects the OK button, and the Co/By products Completion application records a completion for each item shown. In EnterpriseOne, the user has the option of overriding the values shown in the grid for each item. Since this process is kicked off from a single transaction (work order completions), and a parent item could have multiple Co/By product transactions (in this example there are three), Advanced Inventory cannot support changing the values in each record. Consequently, our implementation of this process is a “blind” completion. A blind completion is one where we allow the program to calculate the amount to complete based on the quantity completed on the work order. All the other fields take the default from the Work Order and Item Master.
In the enterprise system, this process is started by selecting a button in the Work Order Completion program. In dcLINK the Co/By Products Completion flag (cCoByProductCompletion_EV02) must be set to a “1”. This flag is part of the data structure (DD3N114A) associated with a work order completion.
