About ERP interfaces
DSI develops interfaces that enable DSI Platform apps to interact with and use the functions of your ERP system. When you develop or install an app on DSI Platform, you can define which ERP functions are used.
ERP systems contain business functions that execute specific pieces of business logic, such as updating inventory tables and purchase orders, or creating service orders. Along with ERP system connectors, Advanced Inventory builds and maintains suites of specialized ERP system interfaces. These interfaces are optimized versions of your ERP system's functions, often in the form of composite functions that execute more than one function call in sequence. They both simplify app development efforts and allow Mobile Enterprise Platform to communicate more efficiently with the ERP. For example, in a typical ERP function call, there are at least three calls that take place.
-
Open a process.
-
Edit the information in the process.
-
Close the process.
Advanced Inventory's interfaces optimize this process by creating a function that handles all three steps, so Mobile Enterprise Platform only has to make a single function call to the ERP. You register the interfaces within your ERP system to allow Mobile Enterprise Platform to pass in data. Advanced Inventory continually updates these interfaces, in conjunction with major ERP releases, so that as your system adds functionality and updates features, your Advanced Inventory system can keep pace.
