Platform Configuration
- About configuring Mobile Enterprise Platform
After you install Mobile Enterprise Platform, you must configure how platform components interact with each other, as well as how Mobile Enterprise Platform interacts with your ERP system. When integrating Mobile Enterprise Platform with an ERP system, the type of enterprise system being used determines the specific settings that must be configured, and which implementation steps apply.
- Configure Mobile Enterprise Platform
You must define some Mobile Enterprise Platform settings such as security and environments. You can also determine the security mode, define environments and promotion levels, set up printers, configure connectors and agents, register database tables and functions, and load mobile devices.
- SOC 2 ComplianceS
System services comply with SOC 2 Type 1 criteria.
- Define system settings
System settings are global parameters that affect your entire Mobile Enterprise Platform instance. These settings can be defined when setting up the system, or editing system operations.
- Define security settings
There are three security modes a user can choose from, those being Standard, Advanced, and LDAP.
- Define environments
Mobile Enterprise Platform supports and interfaces with multiple, simultaneous enterprise system environments. To configure a new environment, specify an identification code and a text description for each environment.
- Define promotion levels
The Mobile Enterprise Platform system supports and interfaces with promotion levels, which are hierarchial controls for promoting apps from a development state into a final production position. Promotion levels can be added and edited, as well as environments assigned to them.
- Define printers
Use the Print Settings page, accessed from Configuration, to configure network label printers for use with the system. The settings specified for each printer include the system printer number, the associated printer server IP address, the print server port number for the specified print server, and the corresponding printer number.
- About connectors
Connectors are specialized components that register APIs in Mobile Enterprise Platform, and provide communication with a range of third-party systems.
- About agents
Agents are system communication components that process and transmit data among various other system components and between Advanced Inventory and the enterprise software.
- Register database tables
You must register a database table before creating an app or publishing an app that has been imported. You can also complete this procedure to re-register a modified database table in order for the system to recognize the modifications. It is not necessary to undo the table registration before re-registering it.
- Register functions
Functions, which are called in the environment and used as an interface between the Mobile Enterprise Platform system and the enterprise system or social application, must be registered to a connector and tested, before creating an app in Application Studio that will call that function.
- Test functions
You can test a registered function from the Registered Functions page or the Function Details page. The Test page is also used to test service definitions.
- About monitoring devices
Device activities can be monitored through the Monitor module of Platform Manager. You can view device profiles, change device settings, delete devices, and load Mobile Clients onto devices.
