QuickLabel
About QuickLabel
QuickLabel functionality provides for immediate label printing from screen input or data file selection.
QuickLabel is primarily used to print test and on-demand labels. Once a label is chosen, variable fields that have a default set in the Data Dictionary are displayed as default data on the data entry screen.Variable fields contained within double quotation marks also print using the QuickLabel function.
From the QuickLabel page you may also merge files for label output by selecting the Print Job radio button. The Print Job option can be used in QuickLabel when the data to populate a label already exists in a data file. This method allows you to associate a label template with an existing source of label field values.
When a label format is loaded into the QuickLabel interface, the system searches for a transaction data record (TxData). The naming convention for the transaction data record is "TxData." + label name. An error message displays if the system does not find the entry in the data record. When the system successfully finds a transaction data record, all fields in the label are displayed in the QuickLabel window.
