Configure formatter settings
You configure how the Label Formatter treats input data for labels to ensure label data displays correctly when printed.
To configure input data for labels, complete the following steps in EPP.

Go to Admin > System Configuration > Formatter.

In the Formatter Settings window, select the Data Format Type.Step InformationNote:Formatter supports both delimited and fixed length ASCII files.

To define the delimiter character in your data files that need a field separator, under Delimiter Character, enter any ASCII character.Step InformationNote:The default delimiter character is the tilde (~).

Optional. To remove leading and trailing spaces in the incoming data from the printed label, select Trim Spaces.Expected ResultResult: Spaces coming before the first character, or after the last character, are removed. Embedded spaces will print. Multiple spaces between characters will print. If Wrap Text is enabled for text fields, all extra spaces are removed, including multiple spaces between characters.

Optional. To remove leading and trailing quotation marks in the data file from the printed label, select Trim Quotes.

To define the maximum number of different label templates that will be loaded in the printer memory at one time, under Max Labels Stored, enter an integer value.

To define the maximum length of a data record that will be sent to the Formatter, under Max Record Length, enter an integer value.Expected ResultResult: Records longer than the Max Record Length are truncated.

To define the tray from which the print job prints to a PCL printer, select the PCL Tray Mappings tab.Step InformationNote:Tray addresses in the PCL language are designated by a number which is associated with a name for the tray. System administrators can change the number in printer configuration files.

Select Save.
