Enable additional fonts
If you have a Zebra, Printronix, or Intermec model printer capable of accepting external font cards, it is possible to enable Enterprise Printing Platform™ to print characters in additional languages.
Note: When printing non-ASCII characters, data must be UTF-8 encoded (ASCII is a subset of UTF-8). Fonts are enabled via the External Fonts window once the appropriate font files are loaded on a printer.
To enable additional fonts, complete the following steps in EPP.
-
Go to the Admin > System Configuration.
-
Double-click External Fonts.
-
Navigate to the Printer Model folder for which a font is being added, and then complete one of the following actions.
-
If you are using an Intermec printer, select up to four external fonts.
-
If you are using a Printronix or Zebra printer, select one external font.
Step InformationNote:If you disable a font card, label templates that utilize that font are no longer valid and cannot be viewed in the Label Designer, or printed. -
-
Select Save.
Result: You may use these additional fonts during label design and printing. Enabled fonts will appear in the font list when viewing the Text Properties panel on the Label Designer page.
